What courses are offered?
This online learning website is set up to walk you through how to design – using popular design programs and creating specific projects like posters, web graphics, and invitations. Each course includes extensive information on techniques, best practices, and shortcut keystrokes, and also includes a full start-to-finish project.
When you enroll, you get immediate access to Course #1 (Our intro to design course that includes two starter projects and bonus material.) Each month following your enrollment, a new course is added to your student dashboard.
How much does DESIGN SCHOOL cost?
The DESIGN SCHOOL is a monthly education subscription – each month that you are enrolled, you will be charged $14.99 (unless you enrolled with a special discount code). There is no initial enrollment fee, and there is no extra cost for bonus material or projects.
The monthly enrollment fee does not include design software costs.
How long does the DESIGN SCHOOL last?
The DESIGN SCHOOL offers ongoing education. You can maintain your enrollment for as long as you like.
Can I sign up at any time?
Enrollment is open-ended; you can absolutely sign up at any time. However, promotions and bonuses will vary depending on when you join.
Will the courses be available simultaneously or will we have to wait until after one course is over before accessing another?
A new course is made available each month and is added to your student dashboard. When a new course becomes available the previous courses will remain in your dashboard for you to revisit whenever you like, as long as your membership is active.
Over time, you will have a large selection of courses and projects at your fingertips – all of which you have either mastered or saved for later, depending on your schedule and learning desires.
Are the courses self-paced?
That is the best part about DESIGN SCHOOL – while you have access to Live Q&A sessions and other great monthly material, you also have the ability to take each course at your own pace! You can dig in and complete them in a week, or pace yourself and spread out the learning over the whole month – it’s totally up to you!
Are there any Social Media groups I should join?
There is a private, student-only DESIGN SCHOOL Facebook Group, and we definitely recommend joining it! It is a great place to share your completed projects and get great feedback from other students around the world. You can request to join the group here.
If I end my enrollment, will I still have access to courses released when I was an active student?
Once you cancel your enrollment, you will have no access to DESIGN SCHOOL courses and your progress will be lost. If you decide to re-enroll, you will begin from the beginning, so we recommend sticking with the program as long as possible.
Are there any tools or resources needed to start?
Yes, and all of that is covered during the first course. As a general rule, the main tools you need are a computer, access to the Internet, and access to some form of design software, whether it is the Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, etc.
Can memberships be given as gifts?
Absolutely! Simply use the name and email of the person you want to give the gift of enrollment to, but provide your payment info when you buy the membership.
Can I just pay for individual courses instead of a monthly membership?
While that seems like a good idea, having access to all the courses is vastly cheaper for students, which is why we decided to structure enrollment that way. We feel it gives the most value to students, at the best possible price point.
What is included in my monthly enrollment?
Good question! There are several different things each month for our students to take advantage of, including:
- New courses. These are released each month, each one building on the knowledge and skills taught in the course before it. Each course will have at least one project included as well, so you can immediately put what you are learning to good use.
- The DESIGN SCHOOL private Facebook Group. This is a great place for students to network, offer up their work for feedback, and build relationships with others that are on this learning journey as well.
- Live Q&A events and Office Hours. Each month, we will host a live online Q&A event. During these sessions, you will have the opportunity to watch, learn, interact, and ask questions in real time! Additionally, there will be times during the month where the teacher will be online and available to ask questions you have in real time as well.
- Bonus Material. Every month we will be bringing you exclusive bonus material. That may be free graphics, discount codes for online design tools, webinars, eBooks, and more.
What if I want to cancel my enrollment? How do I do that?
The easiest option is to cancel it yourself from your membership area. When you are logged in, go to the top right of the screen and click on your Avatar/username. Click settings, and then go to "credit card info" at the top right of the settings page. Then click the red "cancel" button on the product you wish to cancel.
You can also let us know at [email protected] - make sure to put the word “cancel” in the subject box. Additionally, make sure to provide us with the same name (first and last), and email address that you use for your billing information.
Cancellation will occur within 7 days of your request; if your next scheduled billing cycle falls within that timeline, you will still be billed, so be aware of that when submitting your request.
Can I share my membership by giving someone else my login?
No, if multiple people share your membership, the system will automatically lock one or both accounts out.
